COUNSELING APPROACH
Roger's work with individuals addresses many types of concerns including grief, anxiety, depression, life transitions and stress management. He works with college age and older adult clients of all ages, couples and families. He is particularly skilled in working with couples utilizing Gottman based couples counseling methods for those who are trying to get their relationships back on track. Roger has been described as having a calm and caring personality that puts individuals at ease.
Roger uses a variety of counseling techniques (including cognitive behavioral therapy, solution focused, psychodynamic, relational, and compassion based therapy) to address the goals, barriers, and symptoms that a client is bringing into counseling. In sessions, Roger is empathetic and non-judgmental while remaining genuine and focused on goals in counseling. This blend of empathy and focus on solutions has enabled him to help clients make important changes while feeling good in counseling.
